Stone Tent

London/North Wales
2024-2025

Handmade ink from slate dust
Sandblasted letterpress blocks

These collected photographs and writings have been journeying through time, over mountains, in storms and blizzards, with thick layered socks, slippery paths and uneven tiled flooring, with broken branches under foot, bunkbeds, peaks, endless cups of tea in thermos, sandwiches, sunsets and Sun rays. From Sydenham to Llanberis, carved into the side of vast slate mines.

This is a designed archive of my grandparents story in which they met through climbing in North wales, building a cottage overlooking Snowdonia. The content of the 2 editions: 4 layered clamshell box is influenced heavily by slate that surrounds the landscape. Titled Stone Tent, as found in my grandmothers writings, referring to te cottage as ‘nothing more than a stone tent’. Debossed title with grandmothers handwriting.
