The space that music creates
London 2023
A collection of works celebrating the space that music creates: a focus on the live Jam. With words from Tilda Allie, NU sessions, Marios Moschos Fakoudis and Orii Jam. Printed with Risograph, screenprinting and digital at Kingston School Of Art. Illustrations by Tabitha Ellis.
“The kind of sound we feel minded to call music is sound as space rather than sound in place. What matters in music is not the space that the music is in, but the space and spacings that music puts its listener in” (Connor 2010)
This project is a collection of publication designs originating from an interest into the spacings that music exists in. How we interact with music, the space and each other. Essentially I wanted to create a music jam in a hand held piece of design. Sleeve screenprinted at The Kingston School Of Art. Multiple editions made to distribute in Villages Taproom, Deptford. Location of NU Jam Sessions.
